Bill Meyer began his avocation with golf with his Everett High School friends who caddied and loved to compete. Their State High School Team Championship record still stands today with a 72-72-72-73! Bill also won the Washington State Junior Championship. After college golf at Seattle University, he went to Bombay, India as a Peace Corps volunteer, and then served as an officer in the US Naval flight program.

In the early '70s, while working as a Training Manager for Seattle First National Bank, Bill’s passion for golf led him to become the golf coach  at Seattle University.  For the 8 years he coached the team won the Conference Championship 7 out of 8 times.  Nineteen players of Seattle University’s teams went on to join the PGA and are big supporters of junior golf today. Bill’s popular "Mental Side of Golf" Seminars, (used for fundraisers for the Seattle University team’s travel budget) are still well attended as he continues to share his insights about the great game of golf.

In 1981, when Seattle University dropped its sports program, Joan Teats contacted Bill on behalf of WJGA. She suggested that,"Since you are no longer coaching at Seattle University, we need your help and want you to be our President!" He accepted with alacrity, and has been involved with Joan’s vision ever since.

After being Vice President of Sales and Marketing with Family Life Insurance Company, Bill founded Meyer & Associates, Inc. where his main focus has been in the corporate world as a national speaker and trainer, performance consultant and sports psychologist. He is author of an award-winning software CD for professional and personal growth entitled "Unlocking Our Potential".  In the golf world, he does presentations for the PGA, The Club Managers Association of America, the Superintendents Association, The Turf Grass Association and individual clubs.

Bill was co-golf coach with Bill Tindall for 2 years at the University of Washington, where he is now on the team’s Advisory Board. He is a member of the Washington State Golf Association Board of Directors, the Board of Glendale Country Club, and 2001 marked his 20th year as President of WJGA! Bill has a 1 handicap, won the 1999 PNGA Sr. Men’s Championship, and is an 11-time Club Champion.

Bill, and his supportive wife, Barb, have four kids — three of which participated in WJGA.

The lure of golf – with it’s traditions, essence of challenge, and camaraderie – have always been intriguing to Bill. He strongly believes in giving back to the game, has tried to be a great ambassador of golf, and to this day plays the game for sheer enjoyment and with much appreciation.
