Jerry was first exposed to golfing at age 11,
when he became a caddie at the Olympic View Golf Club in Ballard. Up
to this time, no member of Jerry’s family had ever played
golf, but his exposure to the game as a caddie got him
"hooked" for life.

From '58 to '88, Jerry kept quite busy with
career and family which did not allow him a lot of time for
competitive golf; even so, he still managed to win the
Washington State Open in 1961. In addition, he has also
captured the following golf titles:
Hudson Cup Team Member 1961
Senior Hudson Cup Team Member 1990
WSGA Senior Amateur Runner-up 1989
