Snoqualmie Falls Recap Before we recap Snoqualmie which was almost perfect, here are a few things about our next Sub District at Inglewood. More information will be provided when we post tee times, but please be aware that our spectators, volunteers, walking scorers, and of course players must all adhere to the WJGA player dress code. Proper golf attire is required at Inglewood (no jeans, no short shorts, no t-shirts). You will not be allowed on the course if you don’t adhere to the dress code. If you are volunteering in any capacity and don’t meet the dress code you will be buying an outfit in the Pro Shop. There will be a snack stand and two food carts at Inglewood. Range balls will be provided. The Clubhouse is not available for our use, and once you complete your round you cannot use the practice facilities (practice putting green included). Don’t call the Pro Shop or Club about practice rounds, as they are not provided. This also goes for Districts at Sand Point….please don’t call the Pro Shop or Club about practice rounds or information related to our WJGA events. I know you are dying to know why Snoqualmie Falls wasn’t perfect. Fortunately it had nothing to do with Pace of Play, which was again FANTASTIC. In fact I have a new definition for a Quality Problem. I actually heard a player on the 10th tee complain about the speed of play, and their group had played the front nine in 2 hours 15 minutes. I’ve got no problem with that complaint, in fact I kind of like it. Awesome job by everyone. Every round played was well under 4 ½ hours. So why wasn’t it perfect? I’ve been asked by a number of you how many hours it takes to do this job. It’s a lot, and I want to point out that Scott Babcock is putting in his fair share as well. It’s no easy task to coordinate and schedule the volunteers and walking scorers, which is what Scott has been doing. When our volunteers don’t show up its not good, and we had a few walking scorers not show up at Snoqualmie. Please, please, please we are trying to communicate with you prior to the event that you have been assigned, and the assignments are also posted on the website along with your junior’s tee time (which surprisingly rarely get missed/forgotten). Snoqualmie also wasn’t perfect for some other reasons, and these are from some of our players. First we heard from a player that the greens were bumpy but we need to consider the source as this player putted with his wedge all day. Second, we had I think 7 boys hoping for a playoff, and yes an 8 way playoff would have been fun, and yes we would have had one. What you don’t realize is it was going to be a British Open format using holes #1, #2, and #9 along with a WJGA D2 pace of play guideline of 30 minutes for the 3 hole playoff. Thank you Michael Schaloum for making that last putt. Seriously, thank you to everyone for a great event. Whoever our 8-11 year old boy was that went into the Pro Shop with his medal to say Thank You, that was much appreciated by the staff at Snoqualmie Falls. The staff also told us that the WJGA events that they hold are by far always the best run, and they can’t believe how much help we have. Thanks, and we’ll see you at Inglewood………where the greens will not be bumpy, and they will not be slow (you’ve been warned).
