News from your Directors; (please read entire document!)

Welcome to 2010! The season has finally arrived and we wanted to pass on some useful information to make your tournament experience successful!

Parent information

Please review the Code of Conduct with your child. You both have signed off stating you understand and will follow the Code. (Home page on the wjga, net web site)

If you or family or friends plan on following then gallery information is critical for your child’s success. Appropriate dress is also required for galleries. Do not wear flip flops and tank tops. Observe the same dress code as the player. Be prepared and know the dress code rules. It makes for a much more pleasant experience for all.

Please do not bring young children to watch these events, it becomes very distracting and dangerous to have families with young children out on the course. No babies, strollers etc… Cell phones are not permitted to be used out on the course as it is distracting. Gallery members not in compliance will be asked to leave the golf course.

Spectator carts will not be allowed. Permanent disability exceptions will be examined on a case by case basis by the Directors. Please contact Mr. or Mrs. von Doehren prior to the date of the tournament, not the day of the tournament. Temporary disability is not a consideration, (broken foot etc.)

Caddies are not allowed at any time. Coaching or giving advice to your child is not allowed. Please observe spectator signs.

Parents cannot register for their player.

Walking Scorer Information (ages 8-13 parents only)

Walking Scoring is a very important job so you will not be allowed to have a young child with you as you score. Your attention to the player is important so keeping an eye on another child is not appropriate. Make day care arrangements if necessary.

Wear comfortable shoes, have some type of small backpack etc. to carry water and snacks for yourself.  Dress for the weather. You will be keeping accurate score of two players in a group. You will not be paired with your child’s group. You will not be making any rules decisions, your job is to keep the players moving, keep accurate score and keep everyone safe. You will not be having discussions with the gallery. You will be carrying a radio to contact rules officials if the situation arises.

Failure to show  for your assigned duty will result in your child not being able to play.

Every effort will be made to assign you to the days your requested but it has been our experience that some tournaments  parents do not sign up to walk so we have to assign parents. If you are unable to be a walking scorer when you have been assigned then it will be your responsibility to get a substitute to cover your duty.

Player Information

Players need to arrive not later than 30 minutes prior to their tee time. Players must register in person at the registration area.

Read the dress code and arrive in appropriate golf attire. (home page wjga.net code of conduct)

IMPORTANT! --- Withdraw – a minimum of 48 hours (48 hours is defined as from the beginning, or first tee time, of the tournament) notice to tournament director (not golf course) of cancellation. Does not affect future tournament play.

IMPORTANT --- NO-SHOW” (failure to give notice) - less than 48 hours (48 hours is defined as from the beginning, or first tee time, of the tournament) notification to tournament director (notifying golf course is not acceptable) of withdrawal. Failure to give such notice will result in player being DISQUALIFIED from the next WJGA event in which the player is entered, including WJGA District, State or the Jr World State Qualifier. “Pick-up” (Quit) without permission of the Tournament Director, before play is officially ended, the player is DISQUALIFIED (USGA 6-8a) and is automatically suspended from the next WJGA event in which the player is entered including WJGA District, State or the Jr World State Qualifier.

Tee Time Information
