We welcome you to 2013
The season has finally arrived and we wanted to pass on some useful
information to make your tournament experience successful!
End of School year
Due to the various school schedules and snow make up days please check your
last day of school prior to registration. Know your schedule before signing
up for tournaments!
Parent information
Please review the Code of Conduct with your child. You both have signed off
stating you understand and will follow the Code. (Home page on the
www.wjga,net web site)
If you or family or friends plan on following then gallery information is
critical for your child’s success. Appropriate dress is also required for
galleries. Do not wear flip flops and tank tops. Observe the same dress code
as the player. Be prepared and know the dress code rules. It makes for a
much more pleasant experience for all.
Please do not bring young children to watch these events; it becomes
very distracting and dangerous to have families with young children out on
the course. No babies, strollers etc… Talking on cell phones is not
permitted on the course as it is distracting. Gallery members not in
compliance will be asked to leave the golf course.
Spectator carts will not be allowed. Permanent disability
exceptions will be examined on a case by case basis by the Directors. Please
contact Mr. or Mrs. von Doehren prior to the date of the tournament, not the
day of the tournament. Temporary disability is not a consideration, (broken
foot etc.)
Caddies are not allowed at any time. Coaching or giving advice
to your child is not allowed. Please observe spectator signs.
Parents cannot register for their player.
Walking Scorer Information (ages 8-13 parents only)
Walking Scoring is a very important job so you will not be allowed to
have a young child with you as you score. Your attention to the
player is important so keeping an eye on another child is not appropriate.
Make day care arrangements if necessary.
Wear comfortable shoes, have some type of small backpack etc. to carry water
and snacks for yourself. Dress for the weather. You will be keeping accurate
score of two players in a group. You will not be
paired with your child’s group. You will not be making any rules
decisions, your job is to keep the players moving, keep accurate score and
keep everyone safe. You will not be having discussions with the gallery. You
will be carrying a radio to contact rules officials if the situation arises.
Failure to show for your assigned duty will result in your child not being
able to play.
Every effort will be made to assign you to the days your requested but it
has been our experience that some tournaments parents do not sign up to walk
so we have to assign parents. If you are unable to be a walking scorer when
you have been assigned then it will be your responsibility to get a
substitute to cover your duty.
