Following is a summary of the “exemptions” that we provide to juniors who have earned some special considerations by their past performance. Returning members who played on the JAC, GJAC, Hogan Cup or North Pacific Jr Ladies teams in the prior year are granted an exemption into the State Championship if they wish to skip District for any reason. The player must notify the WJGA Executive Director by July 6, 2012. We also give exemptions into State to those players who, depending on the year’s schedule, will have to miss District because of their attending either the USGA national championship or the 15-17 division competition at the Jr World in San Diego. In both of these cases the player has had to qualify locally to play in that event. In 2012, the conflict is with the USGA for both boys and girls. Starting in 2006, we added the exemption to the top 10 returning boys and girls from the prior year WJGA points list to be able to play at Tumwater in the Jr World qualifier without qualifying at their sub-district qualifier. We also require that to use any of these exemptions the players must play in at least one WJGA sub-district event in the current year. That requirement also applies to be eligible for selection to a WJGA team or to win the Player of the Year Award at the end of the season. The following players are eligible for exempt status into the Junior World state qualifier.
