Annual Tournament Scholarship Fund LJ 61 Award Organ Donation

Friends of Luke's Legacy      

The Friends of Luke's Legacy (the organization that oversees the Tournament and Scholarship Fund each year) wants to thank everyone for their contribution whether it was through participation, gift giving, or donation of time and effort.  Your contributions are truly appreciated.

The Committee for Luke’s Legacy is excited to announce the awarding of this year’s scholarships.

Scholarship winners 2006:

*   Amanda Bruckbauer graduated from White River High School in Buckley with a 3.96 GPA.  She has been deeply involved throughout high school with Special Olympics and the Pierce County Inclusion Program working with special needs children.  Amanda will attend Gonzaga University and major in Political Science.
 

*  Kayla Carbon graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School with a 3.91 GPA, and was awarded the Luke’s Legacy Scholarship sponsored by the Federal Way Rotary.  She has won numerous awards as an outstanding musician.  Kayla represented the USA touring Europe in the American Ambassadors Band, and has both performed and served as musical director in several regional plays.  She will attend Central Washington University and study music.
 

*  Christine Ha graduated from Federal Way High School with a 3.99 GPA in a very difficult curriculum.  She was named the Outstanding Academic Student at FWHS for the Class of 2006, won other academic awards too numerous to list.  Christine will attend the University of Washington where she will major in Chemistry and Pre-Med.

We plan to have all four of these outstanding young adults at our golf tournament in August so we can all meet and congratulate them.  We feel that each winner demonstrated every aspect of Luke’s Legacy.

Each scholarship is awarded for 4 years in the amount of $1,000 per year.
