WJGA COVID-19 UPDATE – 3/25
*UPDATED* March 25, 2020 – WJGA COVID-19 Statement
Given the Stay Home, Stay Healthy order made by Governor Inslee Monday night, the Washington Junior Golf Association will be closing its office at 4pm on Wednesday, March 25th for a minimum of two weeks. We will continue to operate remotely, checking voicemails/emails and Executive Director, Tyler Johnsen, can be reached by cell phone at 206-890-0197 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org, and Director of Operations, Chris Curtiss, can be reached by cell phone at 253-226-9003 or email at email@example.com.
We are continuing to work on rescheduling dates for both the Eastern Open and Players Open, and those events are currently postponed until new dates are secured.
The WJGA will continue to closely monitor all available information related to the continued spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) to determine operations in 2020. The health and safety of our players and families, volunteers, employees, host golf courses, and friends continue to be our top priority.
Currently, the WJGA Western Open has been rescheduled for Saturday-Sunday, June 27-28.
The WJGA State Match Play has also now been rescheduled for Mon-Wed, July 27-29.
The Eastern and Players Opens have been postponed.
In the coming days/weeks members should expect to see:
- Rescheduled dates (possibly location) for the WJGA Eastern Open
- Rescheduled dates (possibly location) for the WJGA Players Open
- Additional member communications as needed
At this moment, we plan to conduct all other spring and summer tournaments as posted.
Should any player currently registered for the Western Open, State Match Play, Eastern Open or Players Open wish to withdraw at this point a full refund will be offered.
We will continue to review our schedule and operations based on the recommendations from national, state and local authorities, and make or communicate timely updates as necessary.
