At Washington Junior Golf Association, we are dedicated to supporting junior golfers by providing a comprehensive, competitive program which helps build character and sportsmanship, providing lifelong benefits.

From the President

As the 2024 Golf season ends, I am pleased to say the season seemed to go well.  Our membership essentially remained the same and participation in the district events also remained stable.  We also currently now have 8 statewide events, and these continue to be very popular, filling quickly with a wait list for most of them.

Our 2024 state tournament was held in the Tacoma area with the Home Course being the host course and assisted by Eagles Point and Meadow Park.  It was a very successful state tournament, and I want to thank the District Three Directors John Saegner and Ray Bulliman for their leadership.  I also want to thank all the rules officials and volunteers who assisted in making the tournament run so smoothly.

The cup team events were held this year with the girls placing 3rd at the GJAC and the boys placing 2nd at the Junior Americas Cup and 3rd at the Hogan cup.  Congratulations to all those players that made these cup teams this year.

In closing for another year, I want to personally thank all our tournament directors, rules officials and volunteers for none of this would happen without your countless hours and effort you give to WJGA.

Finally, I want to thank Tyler Johnson for his fine leadership and Chris Curtiss at the office for their work in continuing to make WJGA such a successful organization.

Thank you to the many players, families and volunteers that helped make 2024 another wonderful year for WJGA. Topping over 1,200 members this year, WJGA was once again one of the largest junior golf associations in the country. Our program would not be possible without the volunteer efforts from our amazing team of Tournament Directors and Rules Officials across the state.

A big thank you also needs to go out to our State Championship host courses this year, The Home Course, Eagles Pride GC and Meadow Park GC. It was a special week to have our premier event at the home of golf in the northwest, and The Home Course staff and assisting host course staff went beyond expectations to make it a memorable State Championship. Congratulations to Theodore Snyder and Cienna Lee for capturing the overall 48th WJGA State Championship titles and to all of our division state champion winners this year.

And finally, congratulations to all of our WJGA teams this summer with the Boys’ finishing 2nd place at the Junior Americas Cup and 3rd place at the Hogan Cup, and the Girls’ finishing in 3rd place at the Girls’ Junior Americas Cup and winning the North Pacific Junior Ladies.  Special recognition to Amber Li for qualifying for her fourth GJAC team!
