District 3

Devoted volunteers! L to R – Caroline Matelski, Ernie Lockwood, Mike Hamm, Suellen Hamm, Pete Peltier. Back row Jim Bowen, Bill Heron, John McCausland, District 3 Director John Saegner and Doug Reeves.

Thank you for choosing to participate in the WJGA. We are excited to meet our new junior members and look forward to seeing our returning players and their families.

Just a couple of notes to help make this another successful year:

John Saegner, your Tournament Director, is always looking for volunteers at our events. This is such a great way to give back to the WJGA and does not require much time.  Please let them know if you’d like to help?  John 206-399-8391.

We encourage all of you to please take a few minutes and read our Code of Conduct and Policies posted on the WJGA website. This is where you will find details about our dress code, walking score volunteer requirements, golf course behavior, and gallery rules.

Tee Times: Will be posted 48 hours prior to the event, please check the website for tee times and volunteer assignments.

We are fortunate to have amazing courses and a handful of officials that donate to helping us at each event, please remember to thank them and clean up after yourselves which includes divot repair and garbage along the course.

Make sure to check out the WJGA Complete Schedule of events and sign up as many of these events fill up quickly. Also back after popular demand, are the new one-day, 18-hole “Jr” open events for 8-13 year old players.  There are three of these statewide. Please see information under the tournament tab.  This event will be open for registration March 1, 2024 at 9:00am!

As always, we are here for you. Please contact John at 206-399-8391 if you have any questions or concerns we can assist you with.

Most Importantly: Have Fun!!!

IMPORTANT - Walking Scorer Policy

Walking Scorer Policy

PARENTS of PLAYERS AGES 8-13 MUST BE (or provide/delegate)
A WALKING SCORER (16 yrs or older) in every round/event in which the player is participating.
Players may be asked to withdraw if no walking scorer is provided.

Parents of 8 to 13-year old golfers

As you know, we have parents as walking scorers for all of the 8-11 and 12-13 age divisions. This is done to assist the juniors in making sure their scores are accurate. They are required to keep their own scores as well. Here are some items you should be aware of:

1. As a parent, you are required to walk in every round/event in which the player is participating.

2. You are asked to check in with John Saegner one-half hour prior to your assigned scoring time.

3. If for any reason you find that you cannot make it to the tournament that you are assigned to, you are responsible to find your own walking scorer replacement. Please call John directly 206-399-8391 to let him know who your replacement will be so that there will be a smooth transition.

Thank you again on behalf of all of us.

Tee Times Details

Pairings cannot be requested. Please don’t ask to be paired with your friends. All players should arrive at the course and check-in AT LEAST 30 minutes prior to their posted tee time.
