Scoring Based Entry
WJGA Scoring Based Entry for State Match Play, Western Open, Eastern Open, Players Open & Jr. World Qualifier
Updated SBE Points Lists after Eastern Open Entries:
Introduction
A player’s performance from the previous season will affect acceptance into WJGA’s spring tournament series.
Determining Tournament Fields:
(1) Fully Exempt:
All 13-17 year old boys and girls that qualified for the WJGA State Championship the previous year are exempt into all spring events.
- In addition to the previous year’s State Championship qualifiers, any boy or girl that finished in the top-20 of the previous year’s Player of the Year standings is fully exempt.

(2) Scoring Average & Performance Points:
Players can earn Performance Points based on their scoring average in WJGA events from the previous season.
- Players with the highest-earned points as of the entry deadline will gain entry into the event.
- New members with no WJGA scoring record may submit a tournament score resume to Executive Director, Tyler Johnsen, by email at tyler.johnsen@wjga.net to earn status. All resumes will be vetted.
- Players can earn additional Performance Points throughout the spring by performing well in a WJGA event.
How Entry into a Tournament Affects Your Points
Players who are not Fully Exempt that gain entry into a WJGA spring tournament will use 4 Points. Example: A player with a status of 20 Points will drop to 16 Points upon entry into a tournament.
Players who gain entry with four or less Points will use any earned status and drop down to one Point.
A player that withdraws from a tournament less than two weeks before the tournament start date will not have their points used for that event restored.
Breaking Ties
Any tie for the final spot(s) in a field will go to the player with the lowest scoring average. If the player’s scoring averages are tied, the player with the highest number of events played will earn the spot.
