Siebers advances to Match Play at U.S. Amateur
WJGA member Ian Siebers, from Bellevue, has advanced to match play at the U.S. Amateur after shooting rounds of 73-68 for a 2-under par total of 141 during the stroke play qualifying portion of the championship being held at Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hills.
Siebers’ 2-under par total left him in a tie for 7th place in the elite field of 312 of the best amateur golfers in the world. The top-64 players after stroke play qualifying move on to match play.
Siebers’ Round of 64 match will tee off today, August 15th, at 12:10pm against England’s Alex Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick is the younger brother of European Tour member Matthew Fitzpatrick who won the U.S. Amateur in 2013.
